Minister for Agriculture David Littleproud says the federal government is working towards supporting industries target of $100 billion by 2030 through “15 commodity research development corporations”.

“We’ve put over $147 million in modernising that since July 2020 plus the $1.1 billion a year that goes into agricultural innovation from levy payers and Australian taxpayer,” Mr Littleproud said.

“We are on reform to ensure that we become number one in the world, and we’ve created a new mechanism in modernising that innovation system to ensure we have the environmental infrastructure to achieve that.

“We’ve created agricultural innovation Australia, a commercial entity that will help to ensure that we get back to the first principles of agricultural innovation.

“Value to the levy payer, value to the taxpayer, remove duplication and commercialisation, and we’re giving them the tools to do that.” Australia is on track to 'ensure we become number one in the world' for agriculture
