Crown to keep Melbourne gaming licence despite being 'unsuitable' to operate
Published at : October 26, 2021
Crown Resorts will keep its gaming and entertainment licence despite being told it was unsuitable to operate its casino by Royal Commissioner Ray Finkelstein.
However, the operator has been given two years to implement reforms with the report – which was released on Tuesday – recommending the appointment for a “special manager” to oversee Crown’s operations for the ensuing period.
It’s understood Crown will be able to keep their gaming licence if the manager, former head of IBAC Stephen O’Brien, is satisfied with the organisation’s operations.
